‘Drone at Indian high commission in Islamabad was trying to capture details of diplomatic event’ | India News

NEW DELHI: A drone that was spotted over the Indian High Commission complex in Islamabad last week was allegedly attempting to capture details of a diplomatic event being held at the mission, news agency ANI reported quoting sources.
India had lodged a strong protest with the Pakistan foreign office through a note verbale over the security breach at the high commission premises.

The incident comes amid growing concerns in the security establishment in India after explosives-laden drones were used to carry out an attack on the Jammu Air Force station on June 27.
According to security agencies, it was perhaps the first time since drones were used by terrorists to target vital installations in India.
Army Chief Gen MM Naravane on Thursday said that the easy availability of drones has increased the complexity of security challenges from both state and state-sponsored actors.
A day after the attack on the Air Force station, soldiers thwarted attempts to target the Ratnuchak-Kaluchak military station in Jammu with drones.
J&K DGP Dilbag Singh said that Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is strongly suspected to be behind the drone attack in Jammu.
