Haiti’s U.N. Ambassador Calls on International Community for Help

The United Nations met and discussed the unrest in Haiti after the country’s president was assassinated. A moment of silence was also held to honor the fallen president.

“May I now invite representatives to stand and observe a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of his excellency, Jovenel Moise.” “In recent days, a U.S. government delegation traveled to Haiti in response to the Haitian government’s requests for security and investigative assistance following the assassination. Our delegation reaffirmed not only its close partnership with Haiti, but also its commitment to working in support of the Haitian people and Democratic governance, peace and security.”
