Video shows shocking aftermath of Sydney shooting that left one man dead and another injured after they were blasted with a shotgun as they sat in a Mercedes – as bystander yells ‘breathe, brother, breathe’

Terrifying footage has captured the moment bystanders tried to save the lives of two men after one was killed and the other wounded in a public shooting. 

Mustafa Naaman, 35, and a 23-year-old man who is yet to be identified, were found with shotgun wounds in a white Mercedes on Macmahon Street in Hurstville, south Sydney, after 11pm on Saturday.

Both men were taken to hospital before Mr Naaman died from his injuries. The 23-year-old man remains in a stable condition.

The gunman is on the run and it is not yet known how many people were involved.

Footage from horrified bystanders showed members of the public attempting to help the men after the shooting.

One of the men is seen lying motionless on the footpath, surrounded by members of the public and police.

The white Mercedes sits nearby with a smashed back window and its doors opened.

Several men are seen looking into the Mercedes to help the other man while a police officer tells other members of the public to ‘get back’.

Paramedics arrive on scene before one of the men is lifted onto an ambulance stretcher.

‘Breathe brother, breathe,’ a person says behind the camera.
