Paulina Porizkova has revealed new boyfriend Aaron Sorkin invited her to this year’s Oscars for their second date.
In a New York Times profile, Porizkova revealed her new lover Aaron Sorkin, who she called a ‘great kisser’ suggested they go public at one of the year’s biggest showbiz events.
The A-List couple’s surprise pairing made a huge splash at last month’s ceremony at Los Angeles‘ Union Station – and Porizkova revealed she was nervous about making things official at such a huge event.
‘This is going to kind of take me off the market for a little bit,’ she told Sorkin, who won an Oscar for his 2009 Facebook biopic The Social Network.
‘OK,’ he replied.
The much publicized date comes less than two years after Porizkova’s husband Ric Ocasek, front man of rock band the Cars died unexpectedly months after doctors detected early-stage lung cancer.
Now 56, the writer and model says she is picking up the pieces after the September 2019 death of her husband of 30 years.
Porizkova describes the horrifying moment she discovered his body as she was bringing him a cup of coffee in their home.

She said after she found him dead she planned on calmly telling her children who were downstairs and comforting them, but instead she collapsed.

‘Instead, my legs gave out, literally gave out,’ she told the Times. ‘I crawled down two flights of stairs on my elbows. It was the damnedest thing. I was just sobbing. I didn’t even say anything. I just crawled down on all fours and my son saw me and screamed and just ran upstairs.’
The couple were going through a separation at the time of his death and the next day she learned that she had been recently written out of his will.
Porizkova said the first sign of trouble came when Ocasek hired a notoriously tough divorce lawyer, despite claiming they’d split amicably.
She says he told her not to worry when she raised concerns over the hire.
Ocasek’s sons from his first marriage were also not acknowledged, while her sons and two other stepsons were the main beneficiaries which created conflict within the family.
‘He left things in a mess with the will thing,’ she told the Times. ‘That was such a mean thing to do to us as a family because we’re a fairly close-knit family and that’s not his doing, nobody came away happy from this.
‘Not the ones who were slighted and not the ones that supposedly won the lottery either. It just puts everybody into really awkward situations we’re still trying to figure out.’
In his will Ocasek wrote that his wife was not entitled to her legal marital portion of the estate, ‘because she has abandoned me.’
She is currently in litigation with Mr. Ocasek’s estate, Porizkova told the Times.
